Food and the Environment Prize Winners Announced
Winners of our annual Food and the Environment Prize Draw have been announced. Each year, we send out a survey to all schools participating in the Eco-Schools Scotland programme to ask about any growing or food projects they may be working on. This year, the survey asked about food waste, global footprinting, growing produce and working with local food producers.
Thanks to the kind generosity of outdoor play and forest school suppliers Muddy Faces Ltd, each of our three winning schools has received £100 in vouchers, a catalogue, and a Valuing the Outdoors booklet. Winners are chosen at random from all returned surveys.
This year's winners are:
Junior World Childcare Group
Clachan Primary School
Hermitage Academy's Eco Group said: “Hermitage Academy Eco Group has loved being involved, thanks to funding from the National Lottery, in a project to create a community kitchen garden at our local Hermitage Park. We recently also started an after school gardening club and plan to use the vouchers we have won to buy some gardening equipment as well as some constructions and seeds to help us attract wildlife.”
We have a range of campaigns, projects and resources to support learners and educators to build an understanding of the impact of our food choices and to develop relevant skills. Have a look at our Food and the Environment pages to see what we have to offer.
