Celebrate World Environment Day

Every year, UN Environment coordinates activities across the globe to celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June.

World Environment Day is the United Nations’ biggest awareness-raising event of the year for our planet and its resources. The theme of the 2017 edition is ‘connecting people with nature’ and we see this as a great opportunity to remind pupils across Europe about nature’s beauty and the amazing benefits it brings to our health and minds.

Get outside and celebrate World Environment Day with a lesson outdoors!  You could contribute to science with a biodiversity survey in your school grounds with iNaturalist and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility or learn about biodiversity all around the world with resources on the World Environment Day website.

Please see this invitation to participate from the United Nations Environment Europe Office Director Jan Dusik and the World Environment Day website for further information.
