You can grow
Social enterprise You Can Cook has launched a book for growers in Scotland.
The book - named You Can Grow - is a simple, practical guide to help you take the first steps to growing your own food and have fun at the same time.
The book is a legacy of You Can Cook's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) project called Grow To Eat, which helped Innerleithen and the surrounding areas learn how to grow and cook local, seasonal produce and reduce food waste.
Through their CCF activities You Can Cook found that people perceived various barriers to growing their own food such as cost. The book helps to address these barriers by demonstrating ways of easily growing using household items that are commonly thrown away.
The book was officially launched in Edinburgh at Clydesdale Bank on George Street by Chief Guest Speaker Catherine Maxwell Stuart, 21st Lady of Traquair.
The book is priced at £12.99 and proceeds will support You Can Cook to reach more families and communities across Scotland, helping them to grow and cook their own delicious food.
