Energy advice partnership helps local community save energy

The Communities for Conservation project is funded through the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund and helps people from diverse communities in Edinburgh to reduce their carbon emissions through home energy efficiency advice, cycle training and advice on food growing. The project also provides information on climate change.

The home energy efficiency advice element of the project is offered in partnership with Home Energy Scotland, a Scottish Government programme managed by the Energy Saving Trust.  Communities for Conservation and Home Energy Scotland have produced two video case studies to demonstrate how this partnership is helping families in the local community save energy and stay warm in the home.

Recently, we were delighted to present Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC) with the Environmental Award at the third CEMVO Scotland Ethnic Minority Impact Awards. The CEMVO Scotland awards took place at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow on Saturday 12 November and recognised, rewarded and celebrated individuals and organisations that really make a difference to the lives of people in Scotland. We have sponsored the CEMVO Scotland Environmental Award for the last three years, and were thrilled to see ELREC recognised this year for all they have achieved through their Communities for Conservation project.
