Supporting low carbon lifestyles in Dundee
Gate Church International have produced a video to demonstrate the impact of their Gate Church Carbon Saving Project, which is supported by a grant of £105,000 from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) and also includes maximum funding of £24,148 from the European Regional Development Fund.
The Gate Church Carbon Saving Project aims to help the local community adopt low carbon lifestyles while providing help to those experiencing fuel and material poverty across Dundee. Gate Church is working in partnership with Dundee Foodbank and Dundee Clothes Bank to run a pilot scheme, which if successful has the potential to be developed nationally.
Further savings in carbon emissions are being achieved through installation of energy efficiency measures at the Grade A listed St Mark's Church on Perth Road and the community centre on Greenfield Place.
You can learn more about the project and how to become involved through the Gate Church Carbon Saving Facebook Page.
Gate Church Carbon Saving Project is one of four projects across Dundee City that are currently supported through the CCF. You can view these projects and other currently funded CCF Projects across Scotland on our interactive map.
