South Seeds share practical energy efficiency tips
South Seeds are the latest organisation to share resources through the Climate Challenge Fund Resource Library, recently uploading a series of useful energy efficiency factsheets that are also hosted on their website. The factsheets cover practical ways that households can tackle common problems such as draughts and condensation. Further guides introduce the benefits of installing measures such as LED lighting, secondary glazing and thermal curtains which will help to cut energy use and carbon emissions as well as helping to reduce fuel bills and fuel poverty.
South Seeds is a community organisation based in the South Central area of Glasgow and work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area.
With the support of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF), South Seeds is helping local people to increase energy awareness, with activities including home energy efficiency advice visits and production of resources such as their energy efficiency factsheets. The project is also helping the community to learn more about growing food and how to reduce the amount of waste produced.
We've created the Peer to Peer Resource Library to host resources produced by community organisations as part of CCF projects, including guides, activities, workshop outlines and project tools. If you’ve got a resource you’re proud of (from volunteer expenses forms and data collection sheets to guides to carrying out a home energy advice visits) please share these with us. You'll be able to check the Resource Library to see if you can avoid reinventing the wheel. You’ll also find a series of forums, organised by theme, where you can post questions and start conversations.
