Popular Themed Gatherings return

Events themed around waste, transport, energy efficiency and food provide opportunities to discuss plans and challenges, input into new guidance and network.

We are pleased to confirm that the popular themed Gatherings will return in July and August 2017, following successful events in 2015 and 2016.

Each of the Gatherings will be an opportunity to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s communities to reduce their carbon emissions, with particular reference to the plans detailed in the Scottish Government’s Draft Climate Change Plan.

Throughout the day attendees will also take part in activities that will help to inform new guidance that we are producing to help community-led organisations deliver the most effective carbon reduction projects.

As well as the formal structure of the day, there will be plenty of opportunity to network and share learning with like-minded community-led organisations..

Community-led organistions from across Scotland with an interest in tackling climate change are invited to attend the Gatherings. You can register online for the events via the links below.

CCF Reuse and Repair Gathering - Tuesday 25th July at The Remakery, Edinburgh

CCF Transport Gathering - Thursday 3rd August at Callendar House, Falkirk

CCF Home Energy and Community Buildings Gathering - Wednesday 16th August at Burgh Halls, Linlithgow

CCF Food Gathering - Wednesday 23rd August at Lamancha Hub

We have organised the events as through our management of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund and they form part of the Capacity Building Programme which offers community-led organisations free training, resources and networking opportunities to increase their capacity to take action on climate change.
