Glasgow launch of film about cycling, community and climate change

Join Bike for Good South on 12 October for the launch of ‘Let’s Go! A film about cycling, community and climate change'. The launch event takes place during Scotland’s Climate Week.

For the past two years, playwright Lewis Hetherington and filmmaker Geraldine Heaney have been working with Bike for Good’s participants, volunteers and staff to document and explore how young people and adults are getting involved in helping make Glasgow a more sustainable, cycling friendly city.

Bike for Good invite you to the premiere of the short film made with the local community of Govanhill to celebrate Bike for Good’s VeloCommunities project and the amazing stories of people taking action on climate change at a local level.

VeloCommunities, the 1,000th project to receive funding from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund, aims to get Glasgow’s commuters out of their cars and onto their bikes to help reduce local carbon emissions.

Join Bike for Good for this special film premiere. They'll be a red carpet, vegetarian cinema snacks made by local caterers Kaleyard, live music, film screenings, a Dr Bike workshop, and activities for all ages.

Read more about the VeloCommunities embedded artist project here and view the film trailer below.

Where? Bike For Good Southside Hub, 539 Victoria Road / Langside Lane, G42 8BH.
