Fuel Poverty Strategy consultation events
The Scottish Government launched a public consultation on its new draft Fuel Poverty Strategy on 9 November. The consultation seeks views on proposals to tackle and diminish fuel poverty in Scotland.
The strategy looks at the existing approach to tackling fuel poverty and legislative framework and sets out detailed proposals for a new Fuel Poverty Strategy for Scotland. This is a cross-portfolio endeavour by the Scottish Government to take action to tackle fuel poverty and to enshrine their ambition to eradicate fuel poverty in a new Warm Homes Bill in summer 2018. The deadline for responses is 1 February – the consultation can be accessed via Citizen Space and responses submitted at https://consult.gov.scot/better-homes-division/fuel-poverty/
Scottish Government policy officials will also be holding a series of open consultation events throughout Scotland during December this year.
