Free opportunity to become Carbon Literate in the Western Isles

Two Climate Challenge Fund grant recipients are teaming up to provide a free opportunity to become Carbon Literate in the Western Isles.

Clan Macquarrie Community Centre will host a two-day Carbon Literacy for Communities training course, which will be delivered by Ally Maciver from Carloway Estate Trust, one of the organisations that run the Community LED by Energy Champions project.

The training will cover the basics of climate science, look at current and likely impacts of a changing climate, explore how to communicate climate change, look at where carbon emissions come from and explore ways to support people to take steps to reduce their carbon footprint.

Attendance on the course is free and lunch is included. Participants will be asked to cover the cost of certification (£10 plus VAT) if they wish to be put forward for this.

The training will take place on 23 and 24 January at Clan Macquarrie Community Centre, Borve, Isle of Lewis.

Find out more about the training here or book your space by emailing abigail@carlowayestatetrust.co.uk
