Edinburgh Climate Festival captured on film
The Edinburgh Climate Festival helped to showcase and celebrate of the work of communities in the Edinburgh area to tackle climate change, including the activities of local projects funded in 2016/17 through the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund (CCF). The event was organised by the Edinburgh Climate Network - a partnership of local organisations that were running CCF Projects - including E
The Climate Festival featured local food and a range of stalls, demonstrations and entertainment, including a fashion show of upcycled clothing. There was also the chance to attend fun eco-workshops to learn a variety of skills, including how to reuse and upcycle everyday items and repair a bike. Attendees had the opportunity to become involved in discussion about climate change after a showing of the movie 'Demain', while the huge contribution of volunteers to CCF projects was recognised through the presentation of a number of awards.
The Climate Challenge Fund is a Scottish Government grant programme, managed and administered by Keep Scotland Beautiful, which provides funding and support for community groups that are tackling climate change through local community-led projects.
