Cumnock Juniors offer community help to give carbon the boot

Free second hand sports kit and home energy efficiency advice at Fun Day on 20 May.

Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise will have wide range of free recycled football kit and boots available at their information stand which they are hosting at the Cumnock Juniors F.C. Fun Day on 20th May. In addition, there will be chance to sign up for a free home energy assessment and learn more about support to drive more efficiently. Visitors to the information stand will also be able to find out more about the energy efficiency improvements taking place in the sports pavilion.

The support is being offered through Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise's ZEROise Carbon in our Community project, which aims to reduce carbon emissions at their sports pavilion and in the wider community. Project activities include installation of insulation, double-glazed windows and LED lighting in the pavilion, plus home energy efficiency advice and fuel-efficient driver training. The project is also trialing innovative ways of advertising on football strips that will mean shirts can be re-used from one season to the next.

ZEROise Carbon in our Community is supported by a grant of £99,925 from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund, which includes maximum funding of £21,507 from the European Regional Development Fund.
