Climate Challenge Fund deadline extended

New applicants have until 12pm on Monday 31 October 2016 to complete an online Expression of Interest, the first stage of the application process.

In 2017/18 the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) will focus on funding projects which deliver the greatest reduction in carbon emissions and support Scotland’s most deprived communities, with grants up to £150,000 per project available.

Since the CCF was introduced in 2008,  588 communities across Scotland have been awarded grants totaling £75.7 million to run community-led projects that reduce local carbon emissions, improve their local areas and help them adapt to the impacts of climate change. CCF projects have involved energy efficiency improvements to community owned buildings, energy efficiency advice, lower carbon travel options, community growing initiatives and schemes to tackle waste. See more about these projects in the Project Themes section of our website.

Keep Scotland Beautiful manages the CCF on behalf of the Scottish Government and we encourage community-led organisations interested in applying for grants to check criteria, the application process and upcoming application deadlines.
