Climate Emergency Toolkit for Youth Workers

We are delighted to release a new toolkit to help youth workers inform young people about the climate emergency and empower them to take positive action.

The toolkit has been designed by us in partnership with YouthLink Scotland and is part of the Youth Leader Climate Project funded by the Scottish Government. We are thrilled to publish the toolkit as part of our activities during Scotland's Climate Week.

The Toolkit includes activities to help young people learn about and discuss the impact of our choices on climate change, environment and people. The activities also introduce opportunities for young people to find out more and take positive action to tackle climate change.

The toolkit should prove useful to many youth work settings, but particularly for youth workers who have completed the free Climate Emergency Training for Youth Workers course, also part of the Youth Leader Climate Project.

Learning takes place through facilitated discussions, interactive exercises, games and films, with every session having in-person and online delivery options. The activities meet a variety of youth work outcomes and are flagged with suggested age ranges, resources and timings.

Activities are organised into five sections, with the first section covering climate change, and four further sections focussed around the themes of food, travel, energy and waste.
