McDonald's supports roadside litter campaign

McDonald’s has backed the Keep Scotland Beautiful roadside litter campaign, urging road users to give their litter a lift and take it home with them.

The funding support from McDonald’s was announced in Edinburgh this week, and will help develop the anti-roadside litter campaign as the initiative moves into its second year. It will boost the delivery of on the ground litter monitoring and attitudinal surveys across the country, allowing us to engage with the public and better understand attitudes towards roadside litter. This partnership will also see roadside litter campaign material displayed at McDonald’s restaurants, as a way of positively engaging with customers.

We believe that this partnership with McDonald’s will actively help the campaign raise the profile of the important issue that is roadside litter, to help reach more people across the country. This is a clear priority given that 88% of adults agree that there is a problem with litter on our roadsides.

“We are all in agreement that littering is an unwelcome, antisocial problem but if we really want to change people’s behaviour then it’s important that industry, campaigners and the Government all work together - and the Give Your Litter a Lift roadside campaign is a great example of that.”
