August meeting of the Roadside Litter Campaign Group

Members of the roadside litter campaign group meet to reflect on successes of the campaign and outline action for the road ahead.

On 30 August we were joined at our Stirling office by representatives from AMEY, BEAR Scotland, The Road Haulage Association, Transport Scotland, Stirling Council and Argyll & Bute Council.

Since the inception of the campaign in November 2016, we have developed a suite of campaign collateral and monitoring methodology that is in the process of being rolled out nationally. The meeting allowed us to identify key focuses moving forward. We will continue to build a strong campaign presence across the country, whilst improving and expanding our communications and monitoring strategies.

Now entering its second year, we believe the campaign is in a strong position with cross-party support and a shared desire to further raise awareness of the issue of litter on our roadsides. In August, we welcomed a communications intern to the team, Cameron Taylor will be assisting us to grow the social media presence as the campaign moves forward.
