A.G. Barr backs roadside litter campaign

Major soft drinks company has offered renewed support for our national campaign to tackle roadside litter, placing anti-roadside litter stickers on their fleet of vehicles based in Cumbernauld.

A.G. Barr has pledged support for our anti roadside litter campaign which aims to raise awareness of the blight of roadside litter in Scotland, by equipping their trucks with roadside litter campaign stickers. This latest action of support was bolstered with a photo of the stickers – asking road users to ‘Give Your Litter a Lift, Take it Home’ – being taken as they were placed onto trucks at the Cumbernauld headquarters.

This support comes a year after A.G. Barr vowed to help Keep Scotland BRU-tiful by urging retailers to get display stickers in their windows. Now, as we face the fact that 50 tonnes of litter is collected from Scottish motorways every month, AG Barr is building on its commitment to help keep Scotland beautiful.

Jonathan Kemp, Commercial Director at A.G. Barr commented:

“We are very proud to work closely with Keep Scotland Beautiful, supporting the charity’s Clean Up Scotland campaign and now their roadside litter initiative. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and hope that our involvement can help to encourage others to do the same.

“Litter, whether it is on a roadside or spoiling our countryside, is a very important issue. We are pleased to be a part of this campaign which will see government, industry, charities and communities all working together to tackle anti-social littering behaviour.”

Derek Robertson, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, said:

“Keep Scotland Beautiful is delighted to welcome this most recent action by A.G. Barr to support our roadside litter campaign. The company has been consistent in its commitment to keeping Scotland beautiful.”

“By working closely with businesses, road operators and the public sector across Scotland we will be taking direct action to reduce roadside litter and hope that by contributing our respective expertise and resources we will be able to reach more people and have a greater impact.”

Keep your eyes peeled for our stickers on A.G. Barr trucks across the country and, if it is safe to do so, feel free to take a picture and tag us on social media @KSBScotland – we’d love to see them!
