An-Dràsta! A film about the Climate Emergency in the Western Isles

As part of Scotland's Climate Week (7-13 October) we are delighted to share a film examining how the climate emergency is affecting the Western Isles.

An-Dràsta! was produced as part of the Community LED by Energy Champions project. This initiative is run by Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn and Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh and funded by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund, with additional support from Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Highlands & Islands Enterprise.

Filmed and edited by young people during the summer of 2019, An-Dràsta! examines how the climate emergency is affecting the Western Isles. It is also a plea from our young people to protect our shared futures.

Tha An-Dràsta a’ toirt sùil air a’ chron a tha mac an duine air adhbharachadh san t-saoghal: atharrachadh na gnàth-shìde. Chaidh fhiolmadh agus a ghearradh as t-samhradh 2019 le buidheann de dh’òigridh, a’ coimhead air cùis èiginneach chruinneil aig ìre ionadail agus mar a tha èiginn na gnàth-shìde a’ toirt buaidh air na h-Eileanan Siar. ’S e tagradh a th’ ann bho ar n-òigridh ar saoghal a dhìon agus a ghlèidheadh còmhla airson ar n-àm ri teachd.
