Climate change film evening and discussion

Join us as we explore how community film nights can get people thinking about climate change, then watch and discuss a challenging film.

On the evening of the Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) Gathering, we'll be running a separately ticketed online film evening and discussion.

We're thrilled to have Arran-Eco Savvy attend the event to explain how they use films get people learning, thinking and acting on climate change through their Savvy Film Club.

The evening will also provide the opportunity to experience a film night for yourself, as we watch a challenging film - 'Cooked: Survival by Zip Code'. The film tells the story of the tragic 1995 Chicago heatwave, the most traumatic in U.S. history, in which 739 citizens died over the course of just a single week, most of them poor, elderly, and African American. We are excited that Judith Helfand, producer of the film will join us in a discussion session following the film.

You can view the film trailer below.

We are delighted to organise this event as part of the management of the CCF on behalf of the Scottish Government.

Tickets to the event are free, but must be booked separately to Gathering tickets. Tickets are open to CCF Grant Recipients and representatives of other organisations with an interest in taking community-led action on climate change.
