Doubling the impact with the Big Give Christmas Challenge
Now in its 12th year, the Christmas Challenge launched at midday on 3 December (Giving Tuesday) and runs for just seven days, until 10 December 2019. Throughout the week, supporters’ donations will be matched, doubling the impact of their gifts.
This year, for the first time, we are taking part to raise money to get our young people climate ready.
We’re in a climate crisis. Our actions today will determine what our future on this planet looks like – but time is running out.
The recent climate strikes show just how passionate our young people are about combatting climate change, and we want to enable teachers to tackle this issue in the classroom. Our online programme will educate and provide practical solutions – building on our successful hands-on Climate Ready Classrooms workshops.
Our Development Manger Josephine Querido said: “Climate change is the biggest global challenge of our generation. Adding an online dimension to our Climate Ready Classrooms work will make our programme more accessible to a wider range of schools.
Through this and with your support, we can help thousands of young people to participate actively in Scotland’s transition to a low carbon society and pass on those skills to those around them.”
Jonathan Frank, Director of The Big Give, adds: “The Christmas Challenge is a great opportunity for the British public to maximise the impact of their charitable gifts. Launching on Giving Tuesday, we’re encouraging everyone to consider the causes closest to their heart and to donate, enabling us to help ensure those donations go even further.”
The Big Give matches donations through partnerships with over 20 funding Champions, including Reed Foundation, The Childhood Trust, Four Acre Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Donations opened at midday on 3 December - until 10 December. Please share and support us.
