25,000 miles pledge for Summer Clean
Our Summer Clean launches today and continues through to June 20. There are three ways individuals, families and groups can get involved:
- Pledge your time to clean up an area that you love
- Organise a private event within your local community.
- Make your litter pick count and do a litter survey to help us create snapshot of litter in Scotland.
- Help us spread the message and encourage others to get involved with our handy resources.
This year we're asking people to pledge minutes they will give to our Summer Clean and we will use that figure to estimate total miles covered as part of a UK-wide #MillionMileMission. So far, in Scotland our supporters have pledged 500,000 minutes - 25,000 miles!
This morning, to kick off the first few miles, we were delighted to join East Haven Together, East Grampian Coastal Partnership and members of the local community to launch the Great Angus Beach Clean in East Haven. We then went on to join Ladyloan Primary School on Arbroath beach. Their weekend continues with beach and community clean ups across the whole area. Check out their website if you want to get involved.
