Ochil View Housing Association awarded silver level national environmental award

We have awarded Clackmannanshire based provider Ochil View Housing Association with a silver level National Award for Environmental Excellence®.

This accreditation recognises the Association and its employees’ commitment to improve the housing that it provides whilst listening to, and involving, customers in all aspects of their service.

The award will provide the Association with a baseline for improvement and the opportunity to showcase areas of excellence.

The Associations Chief Executive, George Tainsh, commented:

“We are very pleased to have achieved the silver level award against National Award for Environmental Excellence® criteria and we now have a baseline score of 69% which we can now build on going forward. We were particularly pleased with our external environmental result where a score of 75% placed us in touching distance of “gold” for that particular aspect of the assessment. We now intend to fully review the various recommendations which formed part of the final report and identify specific actions for making things even better for our tenants and service users.”

Due to the ongoing developments in Scotland regarding Covid-19 it was decided there would be no formal presentation of this award.

Katie Murray, our Communities and Place Manager, said:

“Keep Scotland Beautiful is working closely with businesses and organisations across Scotland, helping them to take direct action to improve their local environment. The National Award for Environmental Excellence provides an exciting opportunity to assess and recognise their efforts.

“We are delighted with the achievements of Ochil View Housing Association. Their efforts should be commended and we look forward to supporting their ongoing efforts.”

The National Award for Environmental Excellence is open to companies and organisations throughout Scotland and acts as a benchmark for environmental performance. All entrants are assessed by our Communities and Place team and can be awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold level.

Throughout Scotland, over 130 business locations, from shopping centres, leisure and cultural trusts to train stations and ports, have been audited for a National Award for Environmental Excellence.
