Climate Leadership training update
Community Leader Climate Programme
The interest in the Community Leader Climate Programme has been so high that we have closed expressions of interest to host the training. We will contact all existing applicants this week with an update.
The Community Climate Leader Programme was launched on 24 January and will give community leaders an understanding of climate change, the climate emergency and its implications for their community.
The training will also equip learners to help their community navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead and to play a positive role in Scotland’s journey to a low carbon future.
Claire Gibson, Capacity Building Officer at Keep Scotland Beautiful is co-ordinating the training and commented:
We've received an incredible response from communities across Scotland interested in hosting Community Climate Leader training, so much so that we are closed to new applications. We thank each and every applicant for their interest in learning more about climate change and how to help their community navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Youth Leader Climate Change Project
We are still accepting notes of interest for the Youth Leader Climate Change Project. If your youth network or organisation would like to host a climate change training day or event please do get in touch.
The Youth Leader Climate Change Project will equip Scotland’s youth work leaders with a working understanding of the climate emergency and give them skills and tools to nurture and direct young people’s concern into positive practical action. Although the focus for the training is Youth Workers, it is also open to young people who are leaders and mobilisers.
The Community Climate Leader Programme and Youth Leader Climate Change Project are funded by the Scottish Government.
