Spring Clean support continues to build

We are now in the second week of our Spring Clean, which began on the first of April and runs until the end of May. Over 15,000 people have registered so far, and with 6 weeks left to take part, we are anticipating that numbers will increase even further.

Let’s Clean Up Europe is taking place during Spring Clean too, with the main weekend running over the 12th to the 14th May.  We already have 1,379 participants taking part over this weekend, but all events registered over the Spring Clean period will form Scotland’s contribution to the Europe wide initiative.

So far, the local authorities who have got the most registered Spring Clean events are: Edinburgh City with 16, South Lanarkshire with 15 and West Lothian with 13.  We know there are lots of events going on which so far haven’t been registered with us - so if you’re taking part in a Clean Up, double check that you’re part of the nationwide movement.  All groups registered with us will receive tabards for all volunteers and stickers for children, and are eligible to order free Greggs treats.  This offer is proving to be as popular as ever, with 6,802 treats already ordered.

We also have released our new Clean Up info and survey pack, available on the Organise a Clean Up page.  A survey is a great addition to your Clean Up, as it helps you to understand what is happening locally and also to feed into the nationwide community led picture too.

If you’re feeling inspired, register your event here and don’t forget to get your Greggs free treats order to us in plenty of time – the last day we will except orders is the 12th May.
