Fife to host Beautiful Scotland Awards 2017

The Glen Pavilion in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline is to host our annual celebration of national community environmental improvements in September.

The 51st Beautiful Scotland Award Ceremony, where the efforts of all 2017 entrants will be recognised, is to be hosted by Fife Council at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline's Green Flag Award winning park.

At the ceremony we will celebrate, with hundreds of people from across Scotland, the hard work of communities, local authorities and businesses who tirelessly improve the places they care for.

Depute Provost, Julie Ford, commented: “I look forward to welcoming Keep Scotland Beautiful and all of the Beautiful Scotland 2017 entrants to Pittencrieff Park for the annual Beautiful Scotland Awards ceremony.

“Fife Council has, for many years, been involved with the Beautiful Scotland campaign and many of our communities have had tremendous success.

“We are delighted to be hosting these celebrations and look forward to commemorating the efforts of communities from both Fife and across Scotland, who continue to work hard to improve and enhance our green spaces.”

Up to 300 awards delegates will congregate early in the day to receive tours of key Dunfermline beauty spots and areas of interest organised by Fife Council, Friends of Pittencrieff Park and Dunfermline Delivers. In the evening they will experience an exciting awards ceremony with tables featuring flower arrangements by Cupar in Bloom.

The prestigious Rosebowl Trophy will be presented to the overall award winner, an entrant that shows outstanding commitment to the three core pillars, and a number of  Discretionary Awards will be made.  A selection of this year’s winners will also be nominated to represent Scotland in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK finals in 2018.
