East Haven welcomes Beautiful Scotland judges

Our volunteer Beautiful Scotland judges gathered in East Haven on 30 June for their annual training ahead of the national judging tour which starts next month.

The event, hosted by East Haven Together, saw 18 volunteers trained for the 2017 Beautiful Scotland national judging tour - which will run from the 31 July - 13 August and assess all entries of the well-established Beautiful Scotland campaign.

East Haven Together, is competing in the Coastal Village category of Beautiful Scotland, and not only hosted the training event but the village was officially judged on the day too.  The announcement of winners will be at a national awards dinner in Dunfermline, Fife on 7 September.

Anne Bancroft of East Haven Together said: "Residents were really looking forward to hosting the judges on their annual training day. We have worked hard across all areas of the village and hope to impress the judges with the way in which we have built on Beautiful Scotland’s three pillar framework of horticultural practice, environmental responsibility and community participation.

“We have transformed our community gardens into a learning garden to celebrate Beautiful Scotland’s 2017 theme of Birds, Bees and Trees. We hope everybody will take the opportunity to visit over the summer and learn more about plants and wildlife".
