Participants sought to take part in paid Galashiels focus group

Opportunity for Galashiels locals that don't normally think or talk much about climate change.

If climate change is not at the top of your agenda, or if you just don’t think about it on a regular basis, then we would like to hear from you.

We are calling for local people from in and around Galashiels to take part in a focus group on Thursday 26th September. This focus group is for those that don’t normally think or talk that much about climate change.

Participants will have the chance to share their valuable opinions and in return for two hours of their time, everyone that takes part in the group will be rewarded with £25 at the end of the event.

The focus group, organised by us on behalf of the Scottish Government, is part of The Big Climate Conversation - identifying what changes people in Scotland are willing to make, and what they want the Government to do to tackle the global climate emergency and end Scotland’s contribution to climate change completely within a generation.

Alastair Seaman, Climate Change Manager from Keep Scotland Beautiful commented:

“It is really important that everyone is part of the conversation about climate change. We are keen to hear from residents that don’t normally consider, think or talk that much about climate change.

“You don’t need to bring any experience or any knowledge to the table. We just want to talk to you and have a discussion about your priorities and hear your views.”

Registration for the focus group includes a very short questionnaire that will be used to ensure a diverse range of participants at the event. One week before the focus group, we will contact 30-35 of the people who have registered to confirm their place at the event.

The event is taking place at:

Langlee Community Centre
Marigold Drive
Galashiels
TD1 2LP

5.30pm - 7.30pm

Everyone considering attending the event is required to register their interest at: www.keepscotlandbeautiful.org/galashiels
