E3 Twilight Sessions

Teachers taking part in our Energy, Enterprise and Environment (E³) professional learning course have attended their first twilight sessions over the last two weeks.

These sessions focused on Climate Justice, looking at what the issues are, what are the causes and a discussion of the Kyoto Protocol.  After each  session teachers worked on creating their first E³ classroom resource and activity which focuses on climate change and climate justice.  Some of the ideas coming through from teachers are fantastic and we cant wait to share with you some of their activities.

The E³ teachers are helping to pioneer Learning for Sustainability and throughout the programme, which runs until March 2018, we are keen to share their case studies and resources with you which will help in your LfS and Eco-Schools journey.

If you are interested in introducing Climate Justice to your class, let us know as we can point you in the direction of some great film clips and reading materials to get you started.

In collaboration with EDF Energy, our Energy, Enterprise and Environment programme covers climate change and its implications, how is energy produced, and how to reduce carbon and minimise waste.  It also looks at how we can support behaviour change and renewable energy in Scotland. It has been designed to complement and support Learning for Sustainability requirements while linking to STEM, enterprise, resilience and social innovation enquiries. Participants will also receive support from EDF Energy experts, inspiring visits to energy production facilities and access to exciting teaching and learning materials via the EDF Energy Pod.

Keep an eye on participants' progress on the 2017 E³ programme here.
