Call for teachers to sign up to professional learning opportunity

We are offering 24 teachers the opportunity to take part in our 18-month Energy, Enterprise and Environment professional learning programme.

The programme complements and supports Learning for Sustainability requirements while linking to STEM, enterprise, resilience and social innovation enquiries.

It covers, climate change and its implications, how is energy produced, how to reduce carbon and minimise waste.  It also looks at how we can support behaviour change and renewable energy in Scotland.

Participants will receive support from EDF Energy experts, inspiring visits to energy production facilities and access to exciting teaching and learning materials via the EDF Pod.

The programme will begin in January 2017 and will include a combination of two residential sessions held during in service periods, and a number of locally delivered twilight sessions.  It will also be supported by continuous online learning. Participants will complete a practitioner enquiry and organise a community event as part of the professional learning process.

The programme will also contribute to GTCS standards for Career Long Professional Learning.

You can find out more about the programme and hear from others who have taken part on our website.  To register your interest please contact Michelle Adamson
