Join us for a socially distant picnic

We're inviting you to celebrate local and seasonal food with a One Planet Picnic – a picnic that is good for your and good for the planet.

During lockdown we have provided One Planet Picnic online training to teachers from 52 different schools in 20 local authority areas.  To mark the end of term many of these schools and our team are going to enjoy a socially distant picnic to celebrate local and seasonal produce and to create wider links with their communities.

We’re inviting everyone across Scotland to get involved, in the garden, at a local park or beach, with family members or another household.  While we can’t all be together as we would normally be, and we can’t share food between households, we can share our #OnePlanetPicnic ideas and recipes, our photos of food preparation and eating on social media.

Many of us will be joining together in spirit on 17 June, but you can register your picnic for another day too.

Why not get involved, check out the recipe suggestions and register your picnic to receive a support pack.  Then turn one or more of these local seasonal foods - Beetroot, Radish, New Potatoes, Raspberries, Rhubarb, Tomatoes – into a delicious star picnic item.  Finally, share your experiences with us on social - just tag @KSBScotland or @EcoSchoolsScot.
