#DoggyAmbadssador 2021 competition opens

The annual #DoggyAmbassador competition is now open, searching for the face of this summer's My Beach Your Beach ‘Bag it and bin it’ campaign.

Responsible dog owners from the campaign beaches Ayr, Troon, Irvine, Saltcoats/Ardrossan, Kinghorn Harbour, Portobello and Fisherrow Sands are invited to submit a close-up photo of their pooches enjoying their local beach in order to enter the competition.

They can do this either by email or by posting them publicly on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #DoggyAmbassador and tagging us in @KSBScotland.

Your photos should be high-resolution if possible (so the biggest file size) and please also let us know your doggo's name and beach too!

The winner will get a free photo shoot in order to help promote the ‘bag it and bin it’ message on the beach this year. You can view last year's gorgeous #DoggyAmbassadors here.

Dog poo is not only ugly to look at (or step in!) but it can also contribute to bathing water contamination when left near the shore. It's a key part of the My Beach Your Beach campaign, which we deliver in collaboration with SEPA, the body that monitors bathing water quality across Scotland's 85 designated bathing waters.

Find out more about bathing waters and what we can all do to help protect water quality on the campaign website, here.
