Apply now for free Community Climate Action Plan support

We are delighted to offer a free package of support to a help a community in Scotland to develop its own Community Climate Action Plan.

This opportunity is being provided as part of the Community Leader Climate Programme which is funded by the Scottish Government.

A Community Climate Action Plan will help your community to understand the climate emergency, explore the available options and then turn ideas and ambition into practical action.

The successful applicant will receive support from our experienced community climate facilitator to help their community to develop its own plan. In addition, we’ll highlight inspiring ideas from across Scotland and beyond and signpost to potential funding and further technical advice.

We welcome applications from geographic communities in Scotland with a clear boundary and strong sense of identity that are enthusiastic and committed to acting together to reduce carbon emissions at a local level.

Applicants will require a core group of five to ten people representing a wide range of community interests who are ready to develop a Community Climate Action Plan with the support of our facilitator, and in discussion with the wider community.

Community Climate Action Plan sessions for the successful applicant will involve online meetings, with some research and consultation to be carried out between sessions. We anticipate these planning sessions will start in September and conclude by the end of January.

The application deadline is 9am on Monday 24 August 2020.
