Free training offered by Community Leader Climate Programme

Climate change will have a significant impact on Scotland’s communities over the next 10 years.

Climate change will impact on our natural environment and infrastructure, but plans to reduce our climate change causing greenhouse gas emissions will also change how we live our lives. The Community Leader Climate Programme is designed to help communities across Scotland to understand and navigate these changes.

This free community leader climate programme will give you an understanding of climate change, the Climate Emergency and its implications for communities. Completing this programme will equip you to help your community navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead and to play a positive role in Scotland’s journey to a low carbon future.

Alastair Seaman, Climate Change Manager, Keep Scotland Beautiful

The programme is open to anyone in Scotland who plays an active role in their community; formal or informal, and to people who are active in any kind of community; with examples including, but not limited to geographic, faith, sport, hobby, LGBTI and ethnic minority communities.

The training programme involves a full day of study and will be available through a mix of face-to-face workshops, evening sessions, self-study and webinars to offer flexibility and accessibility. Participants who successfully complete the training can gain official accreditation through our partnership with the Carbon Literacy Project.
