20 Years of Keeping Scotland Beautiful

We’re delighted that the start of the new decade also marks the start of our twentieth year!

For twenty years, we’ve been a consistent force working with unwavering passion to protect, conserve and enhance our environment by combatting climate change, tackling litter and reducing waste.

Throughout this year, we will be celebrating our birthday through a series of blogs, social media campaigns and events. Our actual birthday falls in May, and we will commemorate this milestone with a week of activities from 11-15 May.

The current climate emergency means that never has it been more important to take positive action to look after our environment. We hope you will join us at various points during the year to celebrate what we have achieved over the decades so far and to commit to giving back to the environment for future generations.

Although 2020 marks our 20th birthday, our history stretches back even further. From our early roots in the 1960s with the Scottish Women’s Rural Institute and later under the auspices of Keep Britain Tidy, to then becoming an independent Scottish charity in 2000, our vision for a clean, green sustainable Scotland has always been at the heart of our work.  And excitingly just last year we incorporated canal based cultural heritage into our work too.

If you are interested in finding out more about how you can support and work with us during 2020, please contact our Development Manager Josephine Querido.

We look forward to celebrating our historic birthday year with you!
