CANCELLED: Upstream Battle Community Workshop
Please note: In light of ongoing developments with regard to Coronavirus (Covid-19) we have decided to cancel this event. We will be looking to reschedule at a later date.
Whilst enjoying a walk along the riverside are you frustrated by the amount of litter you find there? Would you like to learn more about marine litter and help us create a litter picture of the Clyde?
Then come along to our workshop we’re running as part of our Upstream Battle campaign in collaboration with Scottish Water!
Thursday 19th March 2020 6:30-8:30pm (arrival anytime from 6:15 – tea and coffee provided)
Castlebank Horticultural Centre, St Patrick’s Road, Lanark, ML11 9EG. The venue is fully accessible - find information on how to get there and parking.
In the first half of the workshop we will learn more about the issues around marine litter, focusing on its pathway from its source in, towns and cities, to the sea.
Then we will look at the ways that you can get involved as an individual or group to tackle these issues. You will learn how to carry out the Upstream Battle litter survey which is part of our Citizen Science programme to gather data and build a litter picture of the Clyde.
There will also be opportunities to network with other groups and to feedback on local issues your group is experiencing with litter.
By the end of the workshops, attendees will:
- Understand the link between land-based litter and marine litter
- Be able to monitor land-based litter using our litter survey
- Make a pledge to raise awareness of marine litter in their own communities
This event is free however due to limited spaces we are asking those interested in coming along to register through Eventbrite.
We look forward to welcoming you to the workshop!
