Easier processing for CCF Grant Awards from 2019/20

Some Climate Challenge Fund Grant Recipients for 2018/19 and 2019/20 received part of their funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The Scottish Government listened to feedback and reviewed the work CCF grant recipients need to do to process ERDF claim and looked to simplify the process. The result is that ERDF funding will no longer be part of CCF Grant Awards for 2019/20.  This will not have any impact on the overall value of the grants originally awarded which will be paid in full by the Scottish Government.

What action do I need to take?

If you are a CCF Grant Recipient also allocated ERDF funding, there will be some changes to the administration and branding of your project which are outlined below.

For 2018/19 (Up to and including 31 March 2019)

There will be no change to the financial administration or branding of your project required up to and including 31 March 2019.

For 2019/20 (From 1 April 2019)

Financial claims:

  • You will no longer need to ERDF stamp invoices, payroll etc, or supply a bank statement evidencing spend.


  • You will no longer need to include ERDF branding in addition to the standard CCF branding when producing new marketing materials. The exception is if you produce items (such as a plaque, poster or media release) for a physical asset such as a building which was in receipt of ERDF funding in 2018/19.
  • There is no need to discard and re-print materials such as posters or leaflets produced in 2018/19 that contain ERDF branding in addition to the standard CCF branding.
