A big thank you and farewell to two charity trustees
At our AGM on Thursday 3 December 2020, we said farewell to two of our passionate charity trustees with a combined service of more than a decade.
Colin Bayes has served on our board since August 2010 and has contributed to many committees and sub groups including Chair of the Audit committee. A Chartered Environmentalist with an extensive career dealing with environmental issues, latterly as Director of Environmental Protection and Improvement for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, a post he retired from in May 2010, he has particularly supported our work to tackle declining local environmental quality. He has been a familiar face at our events, in particular our Beautiful Scotland and Its Your Neighbourhood award ceremonies and seminars.
Jean Fyfe (pictured middle on right at an Upstream Battle event) joined us in 2017 and has served on our board and Remuneration and Fundraising committees, chairing the latter. With a background in Strategic Organisational Development and Finance and as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a qualified Chartered Accountant, she has brought a huge amount to our charity.
Chairman of the board, Lindsay Montgomery said, “I would like to thank both Jean and Colin for their passion, commitment, drive and support during their time as active charity trustees. We have seen the charity move forward, develop a clear strategy and as we look forward to the future, we do so with confidence that they have helped lay the foundations of a successful environmental charity. I personally appreciate the expertise and commitment that both have shown to the mission of Keep Scotland Beautiful and wish them both all the best for the future.”
