Fridays for Future livestream

Fridays For Future are today holding a 24 hour livestream on their International YouTube channel.

Fridays For Future is a global movement that began in August 2018, when 15-year-old Greta Thunberg and other young activists began a school strike for climate. Every school day for three weeks, she sat outside the Swedish Parliament, demanding urgent action on the climate crisis.

Fridays For Future groups from many countries will be sharing their experiences and speaking of how the climate crisis has impacted their communities and what change they want to see. They'll be joined by scientists and musicians.

Groups from Scotland will be featured in the segment scheduled for midday-1pm (UK time).

The livestream event has been organised due to the Covid-19 pandemic impacting the planned for physical strikes.
