Rabbie’s Tours donates to support Spring Clean Scotland

18 March 2025

As we approach the launch of the 2025 mass participation litter pick – Spring Clean Scotland – we’re delighted to confirm funding has been secured following an application to Rabbie’s Tours.

Along with 24 other projects across the UK and Ireland, we were successful in securing £1,500 through a Carbon Tax Donation Scheme which aims to support environmental sustainability and social and community-based projects.

The funding will be used to support our team to inspire action to make #SpringCleanScotland our biggest and best yet.

Hazel Rickett, CEO of Rabbie’s Tours commented, ““At Rabbie’s, we take pride in giving back to our community, and our self-imposed Carbon Tax is one way we make a difference. This year, out of over 50 project proposals, our team voted in high numbers to support Spring Clean Scotland. We strive to support initiatives that promote both environmental and community benefits and we like to give back to the regions where our tours operate. With its focus on both waste reduction and community involvement, along with a broad geographical reach, this project truly resonates with us—and we’re proud to stand behind it."

Since 1993, Rabbie’s Tours has provided immersive small-group travel experiences, combining expert storytelling with a commitment to responsible tourism.

Our Campaign and Innovation manager, Heather McLaughlin, welcomed the news, she said, “Over the years we’ve worked with members of the Rabbie’s Tours team who have carried out litter picks at high profile tourism hot spot destinations, added decals with anti-roadside litter messages to vehicles, and generally supported our mission to keep Scotland beautiful.  Every year, we seek funding to enable us to run #SpringCleanScotland and support communities across the country to make the places they love cleaner, so we are really pleased to have successfully secured funding from Rabbie’s Tours and look forward to engaging and inspiring even more people this year.”

There is still time to register an event between 15 March to 28 April at www.keepscotlandbeautiful.org/springclean.
