FREE Community Litter Workshops - book today
03 October 2024
We've recently opened bookings for five online Community Litter Workshops and one in-person workshop for people to share their concerns and learn more about Scotland’s litter emergency.
Delivered as part of our support for the Scottish Government’s National Litter and Flytipping Strategy, the workshops, for adults (18+) who are beginning their journey to tackle litter and littering behaviour in their community, will take place in November.
The workshops are:
5 November - Online for Falkirk residents
7 November - Online for Aberdeenshire residents
12 November - Online for Argyll & Bute residents
14 November - Online for Scottish Borders residents
19 November - In person workshop for Falkirk residents
26 November - Online for anyone living in Scotland
At the workshops, participants will develop an understanding of why litter is a problem, the wider impacts of poor environmental quality and the basics of behaviour change theory.
Participants will also build knowledge to be able to develop an effective plan to tackle litter in their local area, monitor and report on the litter problem I the local area and identify further information and support to tackle the litter emergency.
Heather McLaughlin, our Campaigns and Social Innovation Manager, said: “Our Scottish Litter Survey showed 85% of people agree that they want more efforts to prevent litter in their area so workshops like these are crucial in helping our communities reverse the country’s litter emergency.
“We’re determined to play our part and it’s inspiring to be a part of the discussions and peer-to-peer learning to support people to take action in their local communities.”
The workshops are available to be booked through Eventbrite and you can read more about how we are supporting the Scottish Government to deliver the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy for Scotland on our website.
