Irvine joins in the Upstream Battle

If you are in Irvine over the next fortnight, you might hear our new #UpstreamBattle radio advert reminding you about the importance of stopping litter’s journey from source to sea.

The bags of litter in the image below were collected during one Irvine riverside litter pick, just upstream from the Railway viaduct. One big, high tide and it could all have ended up in the sea.

We are working with the Irvine Clean Up Crew, North Ayrshire Council and local businesses for our Upstream Battle Irvine intervention.

To support our work in Irvine you could:

• Let us know about your local Irvine litter hero.
• Complete a litter survey along the Irvine River.
• Participate in a local litter pick. (We'll be organising litter picking events on the Irvine riverside in January and February so keep an eye on out for more details.)
