We're supporting Generation H2O

22 January 2024

Water is one of Scotland’s most precious resources.  It is impacted by the climate and litter emergency which we are dedicated to tackling, so we are pleased to share a new education initiative from Scottish Water – Generation H2O to support educators, children and young people.

Three new free educational resources from Scottish Water: Keep Scotland Flowing for learners aged 9-11 (P5-7), Mission H₂O for learners aged 5-11 (P1-7) and Pitch for the Planet for learners aged 12-14 (S1-S3) include fully resourced, interactive lessons to bring the water cycle to life while supporting Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes across Sciences, Social Studies, Technologies, and Health and Wellbeing.

The resources will help schools to progress on their Eco-Schools Green Flag Award journey and support schools who select the water as one of their key topics to act on alongside Climate Action and one other..

Catherine Gee, our Deputy CEO, said: “We’re proud to link to Scottish Water's new nationwide resources through our Eco-Schools programme to help empower children and young people throughout Scotland to take positive action to protect one of our most valuable and precious resources now and into the future.

“It is great to see our positive collaboration with Scottish Water grow following on from our support of its Nature Calls campaign and to call for a ban on wet wipes and our Upstream Battle campaign tackling litter from source to sea.

“We look forward to further work together in the future."

You can access the free educational resources for both primary and secondary schools on our Eco-Schools webpages.
