Scottish Britain in Bloom 2024 finalists revealed

01 February 2024

Four Scottish groups have reached the final of the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

All finalists were successful in our 2023 Beautiful Scotland competition and nominated by us to represent Scotland in the Royal Horticultural Society’s UK-wide Britain in Bloom finals. Results will be announced at the prestigious award ceremony in October.

The Scottish finalists include:

Lauder in Bloom, which scooped the Large Village Award, the David Welch Memorial Award for Something Special and the Keep Scotland Beautiful Award in the Beautiful Scotland initiative in 2023 and now becomes one of eight finalists in the Large Village category alongside others from Northern Ireland, Wales, Guernsey and regions of England.

– Forres in Bloom, which scooped the top award – the prestigious Rosebowl alongside North Berwick in Bloom – as well as the Community Horticulture Award and the Medium Town Category in the Beautiful Scotland initiative in 2023 and now becomes one of five finalists in the Town category alongside others from regions of England.

Bonnie Dundee, which won the City Category, and the Wright Sustainability Award in the Beautiful Scotland initiative in 2023 and now becomes one of three finalists in the City category alongside others from Wales and London.

North Berwick in Bloom, which scooped the top award – the prestigious Rosebowl alongside Forres in Bloom – as well as the Coastal Town Award and VisitScotland Award for Tourism in the Beautiful Scotland initiative in 2023 and now becomes one of four finalists in the Coastal category alongside others from Guernsey and the north west and south east of England.

Fifty-two groups from across the UK will be competing in 11 categories. Judges will tour the UK between 24 July and 16 August, with the results being revealed at the awards on 21 October 2024.

Juliette Camburn, our Senior Community Initiatives Officer, said: “It’s fantastic to see Lauder in Bloom reach the RHS Britain in Bloom UK finals for the first time.

“All of our Beautiful Scotland groups do so much spectacular work in their communities and are committed to climate and nature action and the preservation and enhancement of their neighbourhoods.  To see four groups reach the UK finals highlights how important and appreciated their work is.

“They are fully deserving of their place, and I wish them the best of luck.”
