Vote for your favourite Green Flag Award winning park
Could a Scottish Green Flag Award winning green space feature in this year’s People’s Choice Awards?
The People’s Choice vote is now open to find the top 10 favourite green spaces in the UK and almost 90 of Scotland’s green spaces are in with a chance of featuring.
Voting is open until 30 September with the top 10 winners announced on 7 November at a virtual awards ceremony hosted by the UK national operators; Keep Britain Tidy, Keep Wales Tidy, Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, and ourselves. To vote for your favourite, simply find it on the map at www.greenflagaward.org and click on the vote button.
There are so many different spaces to choose from this year with a record 87 green spaces achieving the Green Flag Award in Scotland. There are community growing spaces and gardens, local nature reserves, traditional parks, and a university campus. You can find a full list of award winners here.
Last year, one Scottish site featured in the UK top 10; Strathaven Park in South Lanarkshire for the eighth year running.
Jamie Ormiston, our Senior Awards Officer said, “Our Green Flag Award Judges have spent all of the Spring and Summer assessing this year’s winners against the strict Green Flag Award criteria but now it’s the turn of the visitors to tell us what they think about their local award winning green space.
“By voting in the People’s Choice Award, the public are not only picking their favourite Green Flag Awarded park, but they are sending a great big thank you to all the staff and volunteers involved in keeping them beautiful and accessible.”
Vote today for one of Scotland’s Green Flag Award winners.
