Schools invited to Climate Action Week live lessons
02 September 2023
We’re excited to once again offer a week of Live Lessons during Scotland’s Climate Week - 26th September – 2nd October. Climate Action Week 2023 will focus on the people and projects that are moving Scotland towards becoming a net zero nation with restored biodiversity by 2045.
As part of climate week we will host a Q&A session with Ms Màiri McAllan, Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Just Transition, streamed live from a school in Edinburgh where she will meet pupils and answer questions. If your class or Eco-Committee has a question to ask the Cabinet Secretary about Scotland's transition to net zero please email us at ecoschools@keepscotlandbeautiful.org by 20 September.
In a special session for Early Years to P3, author and illustrator Mariajo Ilustrajo will read her book Flooded, which introduces concepts about climate change and focuses on the importance of working together and building strong communities.
This year we are also inviting pupils from all years to imagine what their school or community will look like in 2045, when we are a net zero nation with restored and enhanced biodiversity and ecosystems.
Each lesson is accompanied by classroom resources. View the full Climate Action Week schedule and register a free place for your class.
We are grateful to the continued support of our partners from the Scottish Government, Scottish Book Trust, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), and Forth Valley College in delivering these lessons.
