Jumble Trail event held in Inverness!
A Jumble Trail took place in Inverness on June 4th. It was just like a car boot sale but households had their stalls in their front gardens. The whole idea of the Jumble Trail was to encourage sharing, reduce what the community needed to spend on new items, promote a more circular economy and encourage a passion for pre-loved items. It was an opportunity for communities to get together and for householders to pass on their pre-loved items without having to travel which saved them time and money and was better for the environment.
The Jumble Trail event was run in partnership with Crown Connects SCIO and Velocity Café & Bicycle Workshop, of the Highland Community Waste Partnership (HCWP). They were delighted to be joined by The Highland Council's Waste Awareness team to talk to people, answer questions, share information about recycling and hand out food waste caddies to residents in Inverness City to encourage more people to use the service.
HCWP Project Officer, Isabel, from Velocity Café & Bicycle Workshop said: "We were happy to help support Crown Connect's second Jumble Trail event after the success of the first one back in September last year."
"It's a great way to pass on items you don't use and get to know your neighbours!"
