Cup Movement® in the Highlands survey launched

People who buy takeaway drinks in the communities around the NC500 route are being asked to take part in a short survey to help inform the development of a new, innovative reusable cup scheme.
As part of Cup Movement® in the Highlands, environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful are piloting a large-scale reusable cup scheme for the first time in Scotland.
The scheme is being launched in collaboration with NorthCoast 500, Zero Waste Scotland and Highland Good Food Partnership and, ahead of its launch in March, a short survey has been created as part of the preparatory work to ensure the views of customers inform the scheme.
The survey is open to anyone who lives, visits or is planning to visit the areas around the NC500 route. All who complete the survey will be able to access discounted traveller membership from NorthCoast 500 and be in with a chance of winning prizes from Highland Tea Box, Inverness Coffee Roasting Co., Cocoa Mountain Scottish Chocolatiers and NorthCoast 500.
Catherine Gee, Deputy CEO of Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: “We are so excited to be launching the Cup Movement in the Highlands later this year and this survey will help us gather views to inform the development and roll-out of the campaign.
“Everyone who completes the survey will play a vital role in helping us design a campaign that shifts behaviours and mainstreams reusables choices.
“If you live in the area surrounding the NC500, regularly visit it or are planning to visit, I encourage you to take part in the survey and help us change the throwaway culture.”
Despite the convenience of single use cups, they come at a cost, not only to the environment but also to businesses using them. Cup Movement® in the Highlands aims to make it easier for businesses and customers to choose to use a reusable cup when purchasing takeaway drinks in NC500 area of the Highlands.
