Water Lesson Promises to Make A Big Splash

30 May 2022

Everyone is welcome to join in with a class, youth group or Eco-Committee on 6th June for a full morning of workshops, and again on 10th June for an assembly to celebrate your work.

Lessons will be accompanied by classroom activities to do throughout the week, and both sessions will be recorded to watch again later.

We are thrilled to welcome back our special guests from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RSZZ) who will teach us all about different animals from Edinburgh Zoo to learn about water as a source of life and as a habitat.

We also welcome Storyteller Allison Galbraith who joins us courtesy of the Scottish Book Trust. Allison has some fascinating stories about mythical water creatures to share to teach us about water as a source of creativity, emotions, and mystical creatures. (Be prepared to have a bit of noise in your classroom as pupils will be part of the stories!)

And lastly, our Education Officer will introduce the concept of a Water Footprint and why water is a resource that we all depend on and need to look after.

This lesson is the fourth in our series of Eco-Schools Live Lessons focussing on one of the Ten Topics. These lessons provide an in depth look at what each Topic covers, and examples of what can be done by pupils in school and at home to support their school's journey towards a Green Flag Award.

As always, we are grateful to our partner organisations for helping to make this Live Lesson happen.
