Pupils Become Guardians of Biodiversity with Live Lesson
16 May 2022
Pupils across the UK were treated to an Eco-Schools live lesson all about Biodiversity last week.
Our young audience enjoyed learning what Wolves and Pine Hoverflies have in common thanks to Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
They then found out how powerful words are and how they help us look after nature in a session by children's Author and Veterinarian Gill Lewis who appeared courtesy of the Scottish Book Trust.
Lastly, Fairtrade Schools showed us how purchasing Fairtrade products is not only important for communities but for habitats too, and how we can all be guardians of the rainforests by supporting them.
This lesson is the third in our series of Eco-Schools Live Lessons focussing on one of the Ten Topics. These lessons provide an in depth look at what each Topic covers, and examples of what can be done by pupils in school and at home to support their school's journey towards a Green Flag Award.
Each of our Live Lessons and all the accompanying classroom resources are available on our website for use at home, in youth groups or at school. The series of Live Lessons have been designed with Upper Primary in mind, but all pupils are welcome
We are grateful to our partner organisations for helping to make this Live Lesson happen.
