ReMode launch new Paisley space to tackle textile waste

ReMode is opening a new space at the Student Association at University of the West of Scotland, Paisley on 31 August 2018.

The space will be used to sell Re-Moded and hand picked vintage clothing and will form an information hub and workshop venue. To help celebrate the launch of the space Remode be holding a SWISH clothes swap event on 31 August.

You can donate clothes that you no longer wear (but are still good), exchange them for tokens and use these tokens to “buy” clothes you do want.

You can bring donations along on the night or drop them off in advance at ReMode Make Space, 39 High Street Lochwinnoch on Saturdays 12noon-5pm and/or ReMode @SAUWS, Storie Street Paisley on Fridays 10 am-4pm.

The launch event takes place on Friday 31 August 7pm–9pm at University West of Scotland, Storie Street, Paisley PA1 2HT. The event is FREE, but booking is essential. Find out more about how a swish works and book your place here.

The ReMode project aims to reduce textile waste through collecting unwanted items at their shop and offering a programme of hands-on workshops, learning opportunities, swishes and other clothes sharing events.

ReMode also help their membership, workshop participants and shop visitors to learn more about the link between textiles, carbon emissions and climate change.

The Remode project is supported by a grant of £96,146 from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund that includes maximum funding of £31,155 from the European Regional Development Fund.
